Charts

To access Charts, press “View Now” on the ebenchmarking report and select the “Charts” tab. This tab enables users to have visual charts and graphs to accompany compensation reports and analysis. Charts are created for single jobs from the ecomp Job Bank.

To create a chart, click “Select Job” to browse for a job from the ecomp Job Bank. At the bottom of the screen, select up to three compensation elements to include in the chart. If only one compensation element is selected, the chart will show all percentiles for that compensation element, where data is available. You can enter in a custom percentile that will be added to the chart. Bar, boxplot, and line chart types are available.

If more than one compensation element is selected, the chart shows the compensation elements side by side. The bar chart type is the only option available for multiple compensation elements. You can select the percentile to view on the chart or choose “Custom” from the dropdown and enter the desired percentile to display.

Click “Export” to download the chart as a .png.

You can apply filters to the dataset to narrow down the organizations included in the chart output:

  • Adjustment factor: Input a percentage into the field to adjust all dollar dimensions for the entire dataset, such as to age the data or apply a regional differential.
  • Weighting method: Two data weightings are available to generate the reports. Select the “Weighting Method” dropdown and choose “Incumbent” or “Organization”. The platform defaults to “Organization” weighting, to not skew the results towards any organizations with higher incumbent counts.
    • Incumbent: Every incumbent in the dataset has equal weighting in the calculations of the chart’s statistics.
    • Organization: Up to five values per organization are used in the calculations of the chart’s statistics for each job. The five values are representative of the diversity of data from each organization.
  • Geographic dimension: Select the incumbent regions to include in the chart. If no regions are selected, all will be included in the dataset. Note that as this is a filter that is applied to the incumbent-level data, it does not modify the participant list.
  • Organization dimension: These filters are all applied at the organization level and modify the participant list. If no selections are made for any one dimension, all options will be included in the dataset.
    • Ownership type: Select the ownership structure types to include in the chart.
    • Industry: Select the industries in which the organizations operate to include in the chart.
    • Permanent headcount: Select the headcount range to include in the chart.
  • Apply filter on financial measure?: Toggle on this to add financial measure filters. If no selections are made for any one dimension, all options will be included in the dataset.
    • Asset under management: Select the assets under management range to include in the chart.
    • Revenue / budget: Select the revenue / operating budget range to include in the chart.
